Rainbow keys: a fun tool for teaching the groups of 2 and 3 black piano keys
I'm excited to announce my new product for sale: Rainbow Keys – a fun and educational tool designed to help beginner piano students identify the groups of 2 and 3 black keys. These colorful black key covers are perfect for assisting young students in recognizing patterns on the piano keyboard.
Rainbow Keys come in various colors, making them a favorite among students during piano class. They are an excellent resource for teachers to use when introducing young beginners to the keyboard.
Many of my students begin learning at around 3-5 years old. One of the first concepts I introduce is the grouping of 2 and 3 black keys, which helps students start recognizing keyboard patterns. It can take some time for students to differentiate between these groups, so I created these foam covers to make learning this concept fun and engaging.
In my lessons, I demonstrate the two black keys by playing them and counting "1-2." I then do the same for the groups of three black keys, counting "1-2-3." After this, I take out the Rainbow Keys for the two black keys and ask my students to place the foam sheets in the correct positions. I then ask them to do the same with the groups of three black keys. These simple exercises, enhanced by the Rainbow Keys, help students quickly grasp the pattern and improve their keyboard familiarity.
Rainbow Keys is now available in my shop.
Give them a try and let me know how you like it!
Happy teaching :)
